DF realized that it is necessary to engage in an integrated early livelihood recovery and further engage in laying a base for sustainable development projects that will have long term benefit to the community while integrating other spheres of needs. The project aimed at increasing sustainable and diversified household economic opportunities for 6170 people (2678 males: 3492 females) in Elwak District of Gedo region through activities such as: Drill one borehole and provide water extension system to reach at least 75 households with water for consumption and irrigation farming; water pan construction, training of WES committees; training of 75 households on organic farming and later providing them with farming inputs.
