This was an Integrated WASH, Livelihood and Women Peace and Security project which aided 8903 beneficiaries directly. It aimed at increasing sustainable access to water as well as diversified household economic opportunities for 4055 people (1603 males, 2452 females) in Elwak District of Gedo region. In addition it intended to improve the protective environment of 4838 people (1715 males, 3123 females) in Elwak district by raising awareness among community members on psychosocial support as well as establishing community based security systems. Project activities ranged from: WASH- drilling of borehole and rehabilitation of shallow well; Protection- awareness creation on GBV and women rights; and lastly livelihood- Restocking with goats and training in business skills for 25 households.
